Campsite near the caves of Sare

ENTERinto the underground world

Discover the SARE Caves

A must-see site in the Basque Country, the prehistoric caves of Sare are located in Sare, a typical Labourd village classified as one of France’s most beautiful villages.

We’re just 10km from La Rhune and its little train, and 30 minutes from the Basque coast.

The immense limestone massif in and around Sare abounds in cavities.
We suggest you visit one of them, with its atypical geological formation, called LEZEA or GROTTES DE SARE.
The site also features a megalithic park reproducing various monuments and funerary rites, as well as a site museum open to the public.

In the heart of a natural area classified Natura 2000, spend a pleasant moment at the caves of Sare with a visit of about 1 hour, then free access to our museum and megalithic park.
It’s an all-weather activity, rain or shine, but you can discover the underground world under cover and at 14° all year round!
